V.g., spine sunned, owner's signature (1948). Conceived during the second world war when the author was stationed on the Faeroes, this affectionate portrait of island life was compiled from articles which originally appeared in Arthur A. Dallman's North-western Naturalist, the journals Antiquity and The Ibis as well as The Field. Illustrated with monochrome photographs and a few text figures. Appendices list the mammals and birds recorded for the archipelago, and there is a very useful Faeroese glossary.
