The Convolvulus species of the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean Region and the Near and Middle East

Cairo-born Fatima Sa'ad has produced here a 'proefschrift' for her degree of Doctor of Natural Science at the University of Utrecht, supervised by Professor J. Lanjouw. A monograph of south-west Asian Convolvulus, it has been reproduced from a typescript (an IBM electric font, it would appear) and illustrated with some very fine art-work by the author. It contains some very useful critical comments and the general part which introduces the volume includes some interesting snippets, such as the fact that the ground-up roots of Macaronesian endemic Convolvuli are the source of a fragrant powder known as bois de rose. Some slight creasing to the corners of the front cover, but overall in good condition. 288 pp.
