Fine/fine; out of print. The author, Mark Price, spent seven years as Field Manager in Oman working to reintroduce the Arabian Oryx, extinct in the wild since 1972. By co-operating with the local Harasis tribe, success was finally achieved only after considerable effort. By studying demographics of the wild herd, as well as applying knowledge of breeding behaviour gained from captive animals, lessons were learned which are of wider application. This book also shows that such successes are a way of mobilising public opinion on environmental issues.
